Now is a great time to lock in a pre-Christmas meeting. If you are looking for a little inspiration to get started, check out our meeting tips.

Helpful meeting tips:

  • Make Christmas the focus. The holiday period can be a very difficult time for many people.  Consider making this the meeting’s topic.
  • Book early. Venues tend to get busy around Christmas time. To make sure you can have meetings at this time of year at your preferred venue, book early.
  • Meeting content ideas.
    • ReachOut.com Professionals puts a range of e–mental health tools and resources in the hands of professionals who work with young people. The network may like to test and discuss how these resources may be useful in their practice.
    • Run your own panel discussion – use one of MHPN’s pre-prepared case studies and ask group members from a variety of disciplines to give their response to the case, then discuss as a group how working collaboratively could be of benefit. Case studies are available from www.mhpn.org.au/webinars. Select your topic, go to supporting resources and download the case study.
    • Watch an MHPN webinar recording and discuss as a group. MHPN has 25 webinars covering a range of topics including supporting people at risk of suicide, parental mental illness and eating disorders. These can be downloaded from www.mhpn.org.au/webinars. The group can watch and discuss the video.
    • Beam in a guest speaker. If you have access to a computer, AV equipment and a good internet connection consider “skyping” with a guest speaker in another location. This can provide an easy way to secure the guest speaker of your choice.

Get in touch with your project officer to discuss any of the above ideas.
