Guest speakers with a lived experience
beyondblue’s speaker bureau provides the opportunity for networks to receive a presentation from a person with a lived experience.
beyondblue work with their speakers to provide support and coaching to ensure they are appropriately equipped to speak at events such as MHPN network meetings.
A guest speaker with a lived experience in depression and/or anxiety may provide thought-provoking content for your next meeting. If you are interested in learning more, please contact your project officer.
MHPN webinar recordings
MHPN is constantly adding to its suite of webinar recordings. Many networks have found watching and discussing a webinar as a group can provide excellent meeting content. Recent webinar topics include Collaborative Mental Health Care to Support a Young Person from a Refugee Background and A Collaborative Approach to Cancer Survivorship and Mental Health.
The Tips for using webinars as meeting content fact sheet provides some guidance on how to easily integrate watching a webinar as part of your meeting.
With more than 25 webinars available for download, there’s sure to be one that meets your network’s needs. Visit our webinar library to see the full range.
MHPN guest speaker register
MHPN’s guest speaker register has the details of just under 100 potential guest speakers who can present on a wide range of topics.
Even if your chosen speaker is located too far away to attend your meeting in person, videoconferencing technology may provide the opportunity to allow them to present using this facility.
Contact your project officer to learn more about potential guest speakers.
Resources to support those affected by natural disasters
To help support practitioners working with those affected by a range of natural disasters including the recent bush fires, ANU’s Australian Child and Adolescent Trauma Loss and Grief Network (ACATLGN) has gathered a range of resources.
ACATLGN’s resources are all evidence informed and have been developed with Australian expertise. Many were created after the 2009 Victorian bushfires.
The resources, including case studies and health professional guides may provide a talking point for your next meeting. Visit the ACATLGN website to see what’s available.
